Kirk Brae 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Fellow badgers as the 25th season draws to a close the 25th Anniversary committee calls on everyone to pitch in and help make our celebrations a success. Further details of all events are detailed below. The committee would urge all badgers to read through this information and make an early commitment to all events they are able to attend. It is especially important that we start to take ticket money for the Dinner on the 3rd of September. Without a good response for this event it could be a disaster! Badgers these are YOUR celebrations so lets all pull together to make sure they are a success.

8th May: BUPA Great Caledonian Run 2005. Six brave badgers completed the first event of the 25th anniversary celebrations, all with very respectable times over 10k. Greg “Iron Man” Moss stormed in first with a time of 52 minutes and 19 seconds. Keep your eyes peeled for photos on this site. Well done!

Up coming events:

3rd September: Kirk Brae invites all members past and present to a Kirk Brae ‘vs’ Kirk Brae challenge match to be held at Peffermill sports field on the 3rd of September. The match will be followed by a celebratory dinner held at Orwell Lodge Hotel, Polwarth. The ticket price for the dinner will be £25 and all people planning to go are strongly encouraged to bring along at least one other person. The menu for the dinner has now been confirmed as:

Carrot and Coriander Soup

Breast of Chicken with White Wine and Mushroom Sauce served with a Panache of Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes

Warm Apple Pie with Whipped Cream
~
Tea or Coffee

There are 4 vegetarian alternatives to the main course please let Rich Mort know what you would like before Wednesday the 31st of August:

Commemorative booklet: The committee would like to put together a collection of anecdotes and photographs to be combined with a formal history of the club. This will be edited into a commemorative booklet available on the day and also to be archived on this website (also keep your eyes open for the badgers career stats!). Please forward any information, pictures etc to the 25th committee.

9th-11th September: Kirk Brae annual tour to Riverdale Hall, Bellingham. As usual we are booked in for an exhilarating weekend of cricket and beer with Hartlington CC. NOT TO BE MISSED. 24th September: 2nd Annual Badgers of Rock Event . Following on from the success of last year’s event, the badgers of rock are moving to the larger, more family friendly Café Royal. Look forward to another night of rollicking blues with Smokin’ the Swarm, classic rock with Fat Lizzy and maybe another superstar DJ! This event will be open to any and everyone so spread the word…….
